Introducing an Agile approach has a significant impact on the role of the Business Analyst, on their existing skills and their way of working.
AgileBA training and certification is based on the AgileBA Handbook, published by the Agile Business Consortium.
The Handbook offers useful, practical and comprehensive guidance on the role of the Business Analyst working in an Agile way.
AgileBA Foundation
Accredited training and certification will help individuals to:
- Apply the underpinning philosophy, principles and processes of AgileBA in a project situation
- Describe and apply the Agile approach to managing and prioritising requirements
- Produce and evaluate the content of BA-produced products during an Agile project
- Identify and apply popular Agile techniques in a project situation, including MoSCoW prioritisation, iterative development and timeboxing
- Understand the roles and responsibilities within an Agile project and the different levels of empowerment with respect to requirements and the business case
- Understand the mechanisms for facilitation and support within an Agile project
- Understand how to test, estimate and evaluate benefits delivery in an Agile project
- Describe and apply the Agile approach to managing requirements.
AgileBA Practitioner
Accredited training and certification will help individuals to:
- Apply the underpinning philosophy, principles and processes of AgileBA in a project situation
- Describe and apply the Agile approach to managing and prioritising requirements
- Produce and evaluate the content of BA-produced products during an Agile project
- Identify and apply popular Agile techniques in a project situation, including MoSCoW prioritisation, iterative development and timeboxing

Foundation:
- The underpinning philosophy and principles of Agile
- The processes within an Agile project
- The practices used in an Agile project plus their benefits and limitations
- The roles and responsibilities within an Agile project.
Practitioner:
- How to apply the underpinning philosophy and principles of the DSDM Agile Project Framework
- How to apply a variety of Agile practices in a project, e.g. Facilitated Workshops, MoSCoW Prioritisation, Iterative Development and Modelling
- How to test, estimate and evaluate benefits delivery in an Agile project
- The mechanisms for facilitation and support within an Agile project
- The Agile approach to managing and prioritising requirements.

- Practising business analysts
- Agile team members who wish to become Agile Business Analysts
- Individuals wishing to understand business analysis – such as product owners and managers
- Individuals pursuing the AgileBA Practitioner certificate.
Prerequisites
There are no mandatory prerequisites to join this course. You are however required to have written and passed the AgileBA Foundation exam before writing the practitioner.
Exam & Certification
Foundation:
- All methods of delivering this course include the exam in the fee
- The exam is 40 minutes in duration & includes 50 multiple choice questions
- Exams are administered online (proctored) by an independent examination body
- Participants are provided an exam voucher so they can schedule the exam at their convenience after completion of the course
- A passing mark of 50% is required to receive your AgileBA Foundation certificate
Practitioner:
- All methods of delivering this course include the exam & the courseware in the fee
- The exam is 150 minutes (2.5 hours) in duration
- There are 4 question papers with a maximum mark of 20 marks per question. Questions are complex multiple choice
- Open-book allowing the use of AgileBA Handbook only
- Exams are administered online (proctored) by an independent examination body
- Participants are provided an exam voucher so they can schedule the exam at their convenience after completion of the course
- A passing mark of 50% is required to receive your AgileBA Practitioner certificate
